We decided to take a quick getaway to San Diego before the hustle and bustle of school and the fall/holiday season kicks in. We spent two days at the fabulous
Paradise Point Resort and Spa on Mission Bay. We enjoyed a beautiful room and had a blast exploring the resorts grounds. They have a super cool pool, a light tower you can climb, putt-putt golf, bicycle rentals and lots of ponds with fish. The kids were thrilled!
The first day the kids convinced us to rent a 4-seater bicycle and had a blast riding around the resort. Honestly, Steve and I felt so dorky, but the kids were thrilled! Then we spent most of the afternoon hanging out by the pool. That night we were went to a San Diego Padres game and had awesome seats. The kids are quite the baseball fans these days and PetCo park is so cool (this was mine and the kids first visit there!). We watched the Padres beat the Giants 11-3.
The next day we woke up and had plans to go to Legoland. We had been waiting to make sure the kids were old enough and wow-- this place is SO cool. A bit expensive--but so cool. Both had a blast riding on the rides and checking out all the Lego stuff. Heck, Steve and I were in awe looking at all the buildings, rides and attractions! We had a first while we there-- Katelyn and Blake rode their first "big" roller coaster... FIVE times and haven't stopped talking about it! :)
After Legoland we made a quick stop at the outlet mall to stock up on some new fall clothes and then headed home. It was a quick, but fun trip.
Some pictures of our vacation...
This bridge is near the outdoor restaurant where we ate breakfast. It leads to the water at Mission Bay.

This was our bike. :) The kids LOVED this!!

Some pictures at the beautiful pool.

This is Steve and his new wife and family and me and my new husband and son. These were all constructed out of Legos!! So amazing!

All of us on "The Dragon." This was a bigger roller coaster and the kids were tall enough to ride. We went on it FIVE times!
