A few weeks ago the kids completed their second year of swimming lessons. If you reacall things did not go so well last year. You can read about that
here.
This year was a bit different. They seemed a little more comfortable in the water, but the stories these two would come up with to get out of going to swim lessons each morning were interesting to say the least. :)
There was the no-brainer comments:
"Mom, I don't want to go to swimming.""Mom, I already know how to swim.""Mom, swimming in the BIG pool is scary."And then the comical reasons why they didn't want to go:
"Mom, I didn't sleep well last night. I probably shouldn't go to swim, huh?""Mom, my tummy hurts, I think I am sick and should stay home in bed.""Mom, swimming lessons are for babies not big boys like me."Well, we made it through another year and the ironic thing to all of this was they would complain for two hours every morning before the class, but then the moment they walked through the gates at the pool, off they went with a cheery,
"Bye!" Class would end and they would walk up and say how "awesome" swim class was! Go figure!
But the best part came when about a week ago we took off the floaties and the rings and they actually started to swim. We still have a bit to go until mom and dad feel more comfortable, but check out what they can do...
